mailer boxes

The e-commerce standard: self-locking, sturdy-cornered, and opens flat for a clean unboxing. Made to your dimensions and quoted straight.

What a mailer box is

A mailer box (technically a roll-end tuck top) is die-cut from a single sheet of corrugated board and folds together without tape or glue. The side walls double over for rigidity, the front tabs lock the lid shut, and the whole box opens flat like a presentation case. It's the default box of e-commerce brands for a simple reason: it protects like a shipper but opens like packaging you meant.

Budget note

Plain kraft with a one-color logo sits at the bottom of the price range and still reads as intentional. If the budget is tight, cut print coverage before you cut quantity.

What they cost

We publish honest ballparks instead of hiding everything behind a form: typical industry pricing for a standard-size full-color mailer runs from roughly $1.50–$3.50 per unit at 500 units down to $0.65–$1.40 at 5,000. The full breakdown — and the five factors that move the number — is in What custom mailers cost. Your quote is one number that includes plates, dies, and shipping.

Common questions

What's the minimum order for custom mailer boxes?

500 units per size and design. Setup costs like printing plates and cutting dies are spread across the run, which is why minimums exist — below 500, the setup dominates the price and the per-unit cost stops making sense.

Do I need artwork ready to get a quote?

No. A quote is priced from your specs — size, quantity, board grade, and print coverage — not the artwork itself. Once you accept a quote, we handle artwork placement onto the dieline and you approve a proof before anything is printed.

How long does production take?

Most custom mailer runs land in the two-to-four-week range after proof approval, depending on quantity and finish. Your quote states the actual lead time for your job — we'd rather give you a real date than a slogan.

Can I print inside the box?

Yes. Inside printing is the signature mailer move — the lid opens flat, so the interior is a natural canvas. It effectively doubles the print job, so expect it to add cost; many brands get most of the effect with an inside lid print only.

Are mailer boxes recyclable?

Yes — corrugated board is among the most recycled packaging materials, and plain kraft mailers are curbside-recyclable nearly everywhere. Standard water-based inks don't change that.
